Education
Since the start of 2019, we have been hosting education and awareness forums once a month in Victoria, showcasing respected people working in the field of addiction treatment.
Known as a silent disease, an individual battling addiction is not normally found out until it's too late. This is why education on substance abuse and addiction is extremely important. If not for us, then at least for our youths and younger generations. We believe that by creating more awareness within our community we may be able to notice the signs a lot earlier — which could end up changing and saving lives.
This is why our intention and life-long work to break the stigma on addiction is so strong. If individuals, and their families don’t know what to do, where to go or how to access the services available, many will not heal, and the stigma attached to addiction will stay engrained in the Australian culture.
Our mission is to;
- Educate our community on what addiction really is, and why people rely on these chemicals to get through daily life.
- Help families understand the disease of addiction and the roles family members play in a loved ones alcohol or drug use.
- Reach the younger generation with fact-based, effective drug and alcohol abuse education — before they begin experimenting.
- Bring awareness to the early signs and symptoms of addiction so that the issue is addressed sooner.
- Offer a better understanding on what private addiction services are; the costs, expectations, limitations, and how they can be accessed.
- Offer a better understanding on what public or government-based addiction services are available; the costs, expectations, limitations and waiting periods.
- Provide further information on intervention and how to do it effectively.
- Educate on how to set healthy boundaries and communication when dealing with someone with addiction.
In order to break the stigma of addiction and look after the youths of our generation and generations to come, we need to bring more awareness and education into our community.
With your support, we can make it happen! Together let’s ease the burden on families and the still suffering addict by continuing to educate and create awareness within our communities.
DONATE Today, and together we can change the stigma on addiction.
